All Exporters, Importers, CHAs, Members of trade and all concerned are hereby informed that, Central Board of Excise and Customs, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has issued Notifications No. 35, 36 & 37/ 2002 Cus (N.T.) dated 13.6.2002, amending the previous Notifications No. 14,15, 16, 2002 Cus (N.T.) dated 7.3.02 and Notifications No. 17 & 18 /2002 Cus (N.T.) dated 17.3.2002, amending the previous Notifications No. 19/90 Cus. (N.T.) dated 26.7.1990 & 30/97 Cus. (N.T.) dated 7.7.1997 respectively, redefining the Jurisdiction of Chief Commissioner, Commissioner of Customs and Commissioner of Customs (Appeal) and officers of DRI etc. The subject notification, redifining the jurisdictions, are attached herewith for information.

GSR 170 (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of Section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and in supersession of notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, (Department of Revenue) No. 58/97 –Customs (N.T.), dated the 24^th November 1997, the Central Government appoints the officers mentioned in column (2) of the Table below to be the Chief Commissioners of Customs, for the areas falling within the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Customs, or as the case may be, the Commissioner of Central Excise mentioned in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said table with effect from the date to be notified by the Central Government in the Official Gazette.
